    Default Stalling and power loss

I brought my tj nearly 2 years ago now. Each winter she seems to get worse with stalling or loss of power. Usually only happened till she warmed up but is now surging and stalling all day. My wife loves the car but thos is putting a big damper on it.
Ive reconnected the battery and let it idol changed fuel filter oil filter disconnected ecu then reconnected... im at a loss
Any ideas would greatly be appreciated

If the engine light has come on, I'd still check the oil level again (just to eliminate the most basic factor as to why it came on).
Perhaps get your mechanic/auto electrician to check the injectors for cleaning/reconditioning.
Also get the MAF sensor located just behind the intake air box checked. Or the MAP sensor located near the bottom of the intake manifold (located just above the front rocker cover) as the MAP sensor does a similar thing to what you are describing if there are any vacuum leaks (probably a good idea to check for any manifold vacuum leaks/disconnected vacuum lines while you are at it)
You can buy either of them second-hand at the wreckers or online cheap enough if that's the problem.
Otherwise get a mechanic to run an ECU diagnostic to see what (if any) error messages are coming up.

Didnt think there was a map sensor on a 3rd gem magna (TJ)
I think you might be referring to one of the vacuum solenoids, they are part of the emissions systems.

If the engine light is on, you have 2 choices.
Take it to a mechanic and they will read the codes, repair the fault, charge you money and you'll be on your way. its the easiest option because it makes your problem someone elses.

Otherwise, the other option is to investigate and possibly repair it yourself.
I'll assume your leaning towards that because your on here asking questions.
So, you need to bridge pin 1 and 5 on the diagnostic connector, switch the engine on (not running) and read the codes that flash on the engine light.

    https://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=98435
There is a list of the codes.

The diagnostic connector is in the drivers footwell, on the left underside of the trim under the steering wheel very close to the centre console (if you were sitting in the drivers seat it would be above your left knee/shin)

If your able to get the codes, post up here and we can possibly help from there.

@ Oldf4g - you are right, my bad.
I had the problem where one of the vacuum lines connected up to one of the solenoids was snapped & therefore letting air in causing a similar issue to what the poster of this thread was reporting.
